Kurt Szilier (ROM/FRG)

Kurt Szilier was born in Romania in 1957. During an international meet in Volklingen, West Germany, in October 1982 he and teammate Dumitru Sirbu defected. Szilier represented the FRG in competition starting in 1985. He's currently a coach of the German national team and also coaches at FC Bayern Munchen.
