Nobuyuki was born on December 16, 1934.  His wife is Toshiko Aihara, who competed in the 1964 Olympics.  Their two sons, Makoto and Yutaka, are gymnasts.  Yutaka was a member of the bronze medal-winning gymnastics team at the 1992 Olympics.
