Just a couple comments on pits.

If you are putting a pit in the floor, location is everything.  I've
seen gyms put them in a back corner and not be able to fully utilize
them.  The best location would have the pit with one side on an
outside wall, one side with bars, one side to the floor and one side
with vault and beam.

With this type of location, kids can do flyaways and other dismounts
off bars, dismounts off beam, practice new vaults and try new floor
tricks.

My daughters old gyms pit was set like this.  Her new gym has 2
overhead pits which are fine but I think the ground ones can be
better utilized.

I receive Canadian channels here in Buffalo, but I don't
get Roger's Cable.  Do you have any idea if I'll be able to
see the meet?  What channel?  (CBC?)

Thanx

Could someone out there that taped the Rock'n Roll challenge and is willing
to make me a copy please email me.  I would of course pay for the expenses,
or we could trade.

I have set up a web page with some zipped sound files of songs
I am trying to find.  Four of the five songs are either from
floor routines or TV coverage of gym.  If you're able to, check
it out, download the files and have a listen.  Most everything
is explained on the page which is located at:

http://www.geopages.com/Colosseum/2613/index.htm

or if you want to go right to the sound files, then go to:

http://www.geopages.com/Colosseum/2613/

It's a touch on the slow side, and sometimes doesn't even work at
all (ie - "document contains no data" message) but have patience
and keep trying.  You may have better luck during off-peak hours.

Btw, I *may* put up some of my gym photos (along with other
miscellany) when I get a chance.

Subject: ham string injuries

My daughter keeps getting ham string injuries. Any recommendations on how to
avoid these?  She's already doing recommended stretching exercises. It mostly
effects her on the vault and on the beam.  (She is in level 10).  Thanks,
Ramon.
